Mimi For Me Yoga Wellness

Welcome to your YOGA practice!  Bienvenido a su practica de yoga!

Whether you’re a beginner or beyond, I trust that your path will be a rewarding one.  If you’ve not practiced this discipline before, then congratulations on getting yourself on a path that has truly withstood the test of time.

Yoga is an ancient system, (over 5000 years old) of exercise from India.  The word Yoga in Sanskrit comes from the word yuj, which means to “yoke”, bind together, to join, or unite.  It is the union of mind, body, and spirit – a “holistic” approach to physical and mental well-being.
You can make your practice what you like and need at any time!

Participate in the time tested aspect of control and discipline of classic Hatha Yoga, and Meditation, or maybe approach your practice with slow flow and easy stretches for a Gentle practice, or combine it with the magic of movements, and dance with your own rhythm, and breath awareness through your asanas (poses), and you’re in a moving Vinyasa meditation, or maybe you’ll want to work your outer as well as your inner strength through your core -“powerhouse” in Yogalates, and then there are times where all you really need is a delicious Restorative approach.  It’s a “yogi’s choice.”

However you choose to practice be assured that incorporating physical movement, stretching, and balancing, all with a relaxed awareness of your body results in a more toned body, better posture, more flexibility, greater strength, stamina, and an overall positive feeling toward life, just to name a few benefits.  This becomes a purifying process of cleansing both body and mind.  Further, it teaches us to take responsibility for our physical and mental well-being by teaching us to respond to the needs of the moment, usually with better awareness,  greater sensitivity, and ease.  (Especially great for those of us type -A personalities!)  Everyone can practice yoga, it truly is for every-body.  We all have a body and brain that can be trained and conditioned in some manner.  The thoughtful practice of yoga promotes a mental awakening that practitioners often find beneficial in many areas of life, and that’s what we call taking the practice “off the mat”.

Welcome, and I look forward to supporting you on your yoga journey.  As we yogis say to one another, “Namaste”,
“All that is good and true within me, honors and respects all that is good and true within you”.
