Moments Along The Journey: Turkey & Greece –

Cappadocia Serenity & the Turkish Bath Experience

After days filled with adventure, history, and exploring the seriously surreal beauty of Cappadocia, we finally slowed things down and surrendered to pure relaxation at our beautiful cave spa, where each member of the group was treated to the famous Hammam – Turkish Bath.  It was exactly what the soul ordered and what I have been savoring since the moment I planned it months before, and truthfully, perhaps, all of my life.

The Hammam is a centuries-old bathing ritual rooted in Turkish wellness traditions. Warm marble, clouds of steam, cleansing exfoliation, tons of bubbles, and ahhhhh that feeling of leaving behind not only stress, but what felt like an entire layer of exhaustion.  From all our touring not to mention the seven hour time difference, it all had began to catch up.   This was our midway point of this chock-full of everything tour, so this much needed R and R pause was just perfect, and heavenly, and oh so blissful, all while at the same time being quite grounding.

Maybe it’s the ancient energy of the land, the cave dwellings carved into history, the stunning spa, the Hammam itself, or all of it, all at once, but i’m so glad I saved myself for my first Hammam in no other place but in this magical place on earth.
