As women we take on quite a lot of roles; Wives, Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Caregivers, Friends, Co-workers, Entrepreneurs, Activists and so on. Today’s woman undoubtedly goes beyond the traditional roles of yester-year, and is a major contributor to the greater good of our families, loved ones, our communities and society at large. We are no doubt a force like no other.
That force, however, is a source that lies within us that needs to be refueled, and renewed often so that we can tap into it, and generate in a powerful, graceful and most importantly, dignified manner, an expression of our best selves.
We can achieve this by spending a little quality time with ourselves; that is with our mind, body, and spirit, or as I often refer to it collectively as, “me time”.
This important “me time” is not an indulgence, but a necessity in our lives, and the best way that I’ve found to achieve the most within my “me time” is through the great and powerful source that is yoga. Through meditation and movement we strengthen the 3 bodies of our being; the physical, mental and emotional bodies, that, together gives us the strength of a warrior to get us through the toughest of times, whether we’re on the front lines fighting injustice, as a central pillar for our families, and community, or simply, at times as a princess in all her right to be one.
May the force be with you, always.
Namaste~
